AGING IN PLACE RENOVATIONS

Aging in place is an increasingly popular lifestyle that allows seniors to age comfortably in their own home. Many different factors work together to make this possible - access to in-home or outpatient medical care, a solid financial plan, and the support of friends or family members. One of the most important, however, is home remodeling, for which you need a qualified or licensed general contractor.  The Pinkerton team is professional and has experience in both residential and commercial construction and renovations, remodeling and new custom construction.

Aging in place home renovations adapt the home to the senior's needs so that it changes with them. For example, many seniors might have difficulty navigating the bathroom. To address this, we'd install grab bars, a walk-in shower or tub, and non-slip mats on the floor.

Naturally, the exact type of renovations depend on the individual senior. If the person uses a wheelchair we'd widen doorways and, if the home has exterior stairs, install an access ramp. Full design build remodeling contractors are vital here, since many aspects of the home may need to be redesigned to make wheelchair use convenient.

No one wants to see a senior move out of their longtime home, especially when it's not absolutely necessary. As residential general contractors, Pinkerton is also proud to be a certified aging in place specialist. You can check out our Premier Aging in Place website for more of what we have to offer in the area of home modifications, remodeling and renovations (e.g. bathroom remodel).
